After the fun, happy Christmas celebrations and endless parties, I’m sure all of us would want to end 2012 with a glorious bang. What could be more fitting to end this year than by attending the New Year’s Eve Party decked in a sexy, glamorous attire and a delicately made up face. As I have mentioned a couple of times before, great make up starts with good skin. The harshness of the winter weather may make your skin dull and dry, so here are some moisture-rich DIY masks that you can try at home that will surely make your skin ready for the new year!
DIY WINTER BEAUTY MASKS
The antioxidant wonders of berries added with moisturizing properties of yogurt and honey, is a combination that brings such a treat to your tired skin! In a bowl, combine a couple of tablespoonfuls of plain yogurt, and a couple of tablespoonfuls of honey. Mix these ingredients well and add in 1/4 cup of pureed fresh berries and one tablespoon of fresh lemon juice. Blackberries and blueberries contain the richest source of antioxidants, so use these ingredients whenever they’re available. After mixing all of these, apply the mixture on your cleansed face. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes, rinse with warm water and pat dry with a towel. Try using this mask for at least two times a week and your skin will look so bright and glowing!
Sweet Brown Sugar Lip Scrub
Winter can leave your lips dry and chapped so one of the best ways to keep your lips looking lovely is to regularly use a lip scrub. This removes any dead skin cells, thereby leaving your lips supple and smooth. In a small bowl, mix one tablespoonful of brown sugar with one tablespoon of olive oil. Mix these two together until the sugar becomes moist. The hydrating properties of olive oil as well s the exfoliating nature of brown sugar will help remove the dead skin cells as well as providing hydration. After scrubbing your lips, apply liberal amounts of lip balm to keep your pucker smooth, soft and kissable. Use this mixture at least twice a week.

Rich Avocado Mask
Give your dry skin a boost with this avocado fascial mask! Use 1/2 of an avocado and mash it well. Combine it with a little bit of olive oil and apply on a cleansed face. Let this mask stay on your skin for at least 15 minutes and then rinse off with warm water. This mask will really keep your skin fresh and hydrated especially during the winter. Use this at least twice a week in order to keep your skin refreshed!
