Seven Bad Beauty Habits

Over the years we have adapted quite a few beauty routines that many of us would consider important for everyday living. However, there are some beauty habits that are not recommended, and can sometimes cause unwanted breakouts. Here are some bad beauty habits that one must refrain from doing:

1. Not Wearing Sunscreen

If you always find yourself going out and about during the day, then it is always a must to wear sunscreen. Not doings so will increase your chances of getting skin cancer. A good sunscreen with a broad spectrum SPF can help protect your skin from cancer causing UV rays.

2. Touching Your Face

Your hands can carry a lot of dirt and bacteria that can cause breakouts. This is a habit that is definitely hard to break since we sometimes do this temporarily. Try to minimize this habit and if need be, always make sure that your hands are clean.

3. Rubbing Your Eyes

It is not recommended to rub your eyes because doing so can potentially harm them. This habit will also cause premature wrinkles and sagging of the skin. Whenever you get something in your eye, instead of rubbing it off, you can apply some eye drops or try to tear up by yawning. This will bring more fluid in your eyes so that the annoying thing will flush away gently.

4. Sleeping With Makeup On

We hear this rule most often. Not removing your makeup can clog the pores of your skin. If your pores get clogged, bacteria can accumulate which will then cause breakouts that will definitely not make your day a happy and dandy day.

5. Washing Your Hair Everyday

Yes, there are times where you feel the need to wash your hair everyday because you often get hot and sweaty because of your activities. However, washing your hair everyday can make it dry and brittle. Try doing it every other day, and for those non-shower days, try adding some baby powder on a brush and comb your hair through it. The powder will absorb the excess oil and will make your hair less oily.

6. Not Using Heat Protectant

Most of the tools that we use for our hair often require a lot of heat. A heat protectant can save your hair from getting brittle and fried.

7. Forgetting to Clean Make Up Brushes

Make up brushes require deep cleaning at least once a week. Some brushes are used more often than others, so they require spot treatment. These brushes, especially those that are used with liquid make up such as foundations and eyeliners are easy targets for bacterial infestation. Cleaning them after use can prevent these bad guys from calling your brushes their home away from home.

These habits, along with a dozen others can potentially cause dire consequences on your hair and skin. Try to think about any bad habits that you may have and try to make a resolution to keep your self from doing so.
