I’m sure there were many of us who were so dedicated in writing our new year’s resolutions. I’m also betting my money that “losing weight” is on the top of our list. I don’t really blame you guys because it’s just so hard to say no to all those yummy food during the holidays. >.< Now that the festivities are over, and since it’s a brand new year, we would most often feel the need to turn on a new leaf. Sticking to your new year’s resolutions may be a bit difficult to follow, but it can be done. Here are some ways that will help you with your goals.
HOW TO STICK TO YOUR NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS
1. Get Support From A Friend
It’s a little difficult to fulfill your resolutions if you do it alone. Sometimes you need someone to cheer you up to get you going. Try to share your resolutions with a close friend so that both of you can have each other’s backs if you want to reach a goal. Whether it’s a habit that you want to get out of or a hobby that you want to pursue, it’s always fun if you do it with someone who cares.
2. Set Realistic Goals
One of the reasons why people easily give up is setting unrealistic goals. For example, if losing weight is your goal, you just can’t lose a lot of pounds in one day. It takes a lot of patience and perseverance for it to yield results. Try asking for advice when it comes to exercise routines and diet so that you will be able to achieve your goals slowly but surely.
Motivate yourself by constantly setting the reasons why you’re doing it. If you want to achieve that gorgeous body, get a picture of your favorite celebrity and post it in an area where you can easily see it. If your goal is to buy that gorgeous pair of shoes, print out a picture and its price so that you can find ways to earn money (or if you are planning to save money, you will easily set aside a portion of your earnings). Motivation is necessary for you to be able to reach your goals.
4. Keep A Journal Of Your Progress
It’s a great idea to monitor your progress so that you will have the inspiration to continue. Also, try to jot down random encouraging moments from people. In my case, I remember when i was trying to have a more toned body (I don’t want to be stick thin, I just wanted to have a very healthy but well toned figure), somebody came up to me and complimented me of how healthier I became and even asked me for tips. It just made me feel great and it made my efforts so worth it.
I really do hope that these tips will be able to help you stick to your goals for this year. There’s nothing like celebrating your results after doing a lot of hard work. how about you? How do you guys commit to your goals? Share them with us in the comments section below!
