We kicked off our BIMD end of the year awards with my Beauty Favorites of 2012 and we will continue on with…*wait for it*
Oh yes, I definitely enjoyed everything that this year had to offer when it comes to trends and I enjoyed every bit of it. It was really an amazing journey that’s full of interesting styles, colors and patterns.
FASHION FAVORITES FOR 2012
Well, well, well… 2012 kicked off with it’s signature color: The Tangerine Tango. Needless to say, I went crazy for any clothing that has its shade… from pastel peaches to bright corals, my closet became so happy with me being crazy for orange! There’s just something about this shade that makes you so happy and cheery. How about you? Did you catch the 2012 Tangerine Bug?
During the summer I have seen a lot of sheer tops in different colors and designs. It’s a trend that is so popular that I’m sure most of us have bought at least one of those babies. It’s a great way to show sexiness! I would usually wear a sleeveless sheer top with either a black or a nude bra. If the top is a little too sheer, I’d tone it down by wearing a blazer. And speaking of blazers, the blazer and shorts combo is also one of my favorite trends this year and I hope that it will still be as popular in 2013.
In Love With Waxed Jeans
If you’re an avid reader of this blog, I’m sure you have already been aware of my incessant love affair with waxed jeans when it first came out. The texture is a bit different compared with your usual denims. If you are wearing a really simple T-shirt, wear those jeans and it will instantly put your outfit to the next level.
My Love Of Prints
The print on print trend has become very popular this year and I have definitely caught the bug! At first I was a bit wary, because I don’t know how to pull it off, but after learning a few tricks, everything just came smoothly. I became more daring with my wardrobe choices. I love how this gave me the freedom to express myself. I really enjoyed mixing prints together! It’s like defying that age old rule that says “print on print is a no no”. Have you tried this trend before? How was it for you?
I just love how my rekindled love for fashion made me feel so confident about myself. I love to stand out and experiment with different colors and textures. It’s a great way to express yourself! All it takes is to know which cuts or styles work for you. You don’t need to buy the newest garments or have an expensive wardrobe. What’s important is the way you carry yourself!
2012 has been an exciting year for fashion. How about you guys? What were your fashion favorites this year? Share them with us by giving us a comment below! We’d love to hear from you!
