For most of us who are in love with our flats, flip-flops and sneakers, it may take some time for us to walk in them. However, there are a few tricks that you can do so that you will be able to get used to wearing heels. If you are preparing for a formal occasion or would just want to try something different, these tips will definitely help you achieve that.

HOW TO WALK IN HIGH HEELS

1. Start Small

If you are wearing heels for the first time, it is important that you start with at least a pair of 2 inch heels. In that way, you will be able to get a feel of walking in high heels without worrying about twisting your ankle or falling over. Wedges are the perfect pair to practice with since they provide a better balance. Try walking around in them and then you can make your transition with higher heels.

2. Start With The Heel

Practice walking by putting your heel down first. This will be able to give you more balance and it will make you look more graceful when you walk. Who wouldn’t want to appear confident and sexy when they walk?

3. Walk in An Imaginary Line

If you want to walk in a confident manner, try imagining a straight line in front of you. Practice walking one foot in front of the other. If you want to walk like what the models do in the runway, then practice this method. Not only does this make you look better while walking in heels, it will also make you look graceful and confident.

4. Take Small Steps

One of the reasons why it’s a little difficult to walk in heels it’s because we are so used to taking longer strides. It’s important to take short steps so that you will be able to adjust well.

5. Practice Makes Perfect

If you don’t want to mess up with your heels, it’s always a good idea to practice walking. This will give you more confidence in your stride and it will also help you avoid any mishaps.

Walking in high heels is not as difficult as you may think. Along with a few tricks and a bit of practice, you can definitely strut your stuff with a smile. :)
