Make Up Wednesdays: The Different Kinds of Lip Products

Several days ago, I was able to share with you some basic information on the different types of blushes. For today’s post, I’m going to talk about lip products. There are so many kinds of lip products that can sometimes be a bit confusing for those who are new to it. I know how it feels, because I used to feel that way when I was just starting out with make up. To help all of you newbies, here’s a 101 on the different kinds of lip products!

Lip Balm

Ah, the ever familiar lip balm. The saving grace of all dry and chapped lips! hahaha! back when I was in high school, I literally cannot live without it. Once my lips become dry, I apply this baby on and I’m good to go. One of my favorite tubes is the Honey lip balm from Burts Bees. They keep my lips happy and moisturized. My current favorite product of the moment is from Etude House. It’s one of their limited edition ShiniStar lip balms. It seems like gloss to me though, but it’s awesome!

Lip Tint

This was one of my least favorite kind of lip products but I seem to love it now. I like how I can easily do the gradient effect on my lips. It makes my pucker look like I just ate a popsicle or something. It provides such a natural-looking color. I like to dab this on the center of my lips and then apply lip balm afterwards. That’s what I do when I’m not in the mood to put any make up on.

Of course, this is one of the most easily recognizable lip product. It has various kinds of textures and finishes. I love to try out different shades! One of the most classic shades is of course, the red lipstick. I remember I wrote an article a couple of years back on how to use the right lipstick for your skin tone, so you have to check it out!

Lip Gloss

Lip gloss is a bit of a love hate for me. I love the fact that it gives extra shine to your lips, but they can be a bi sticky sometimes. I used to love lip gloss as a kid, but now I prefer matte lipsticks. One of my favorite tricks is to apply a bit of gloss on the center of my lips to give it more dimension. Revlon has some of the best glosses in the market. How about you? What brand is your favorite?

These lip products are what you need if you want to put some color and moisture to your lips. The most important thing that you have to make sure of is to exfoliate it regularly so that it will be easier for you to apply the color on it.
